JESSICA SIMMS - MACP, RP (Qualifying)
To build upon Jody Carrington’s philosophy, all people are connection-seeking. Sometimes in our lives, this need for safe connection can become blurred, making us feel, think, and do things that we never expected. A lack of safe connections may also prevent people from being able to fully accept their emotions. I am here to provide a safe space where you can connect with me in a meaningful way to explore your thoughts and emotions free of judgement and shame.
Whether your concerns focus on developing solutions to immediate problems, or you are hoping to explore past experiences, I am willing to meet you where you’re comfortable. My approach includes a strong focus on somatic embodiment - exploring the trauma response stored as feelings in our nervous systems. As Gabor Maté said, “Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.” This response can show up in the most unexpected ways, such as stress at work, disconnection in your personal relationships, or inexplicable fits of anger. We work together as a team to identify these underlying experiences and integrate them to make room for positive experiences instead.
The journey to healing is not a straight path, though. I use direct communication and compassionate intuition to collaboratively identify the most effective use of our time together. In this way we continue to work toward long term goals while maintaining the flexibility to target otherexperiences that may occur unexpectedly.
Consultation & Fee:
I offer free 15 minute consultation to assess the right fit. My fee for therapy services is $150 for 50 minutes individual session and $165 for couples therapy. I may have a few sliding scale spots for those who qualify.

“Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.”
